I would like to thank you again for accepting Taesha into your program. I have known Taesha through my work as a court appointed CASA worker for a little over one year. I believe that Camp Starfish had a huge impact on this little girl. When she returned, it seemed as though she had really "grown up". Taesha had a wonderful time participating in Camp activities and meeting new friends. She also seemed more comfortable and appropriate around adults. Her ability to interact positively with her peers had improved tremendously. She also began to acquire the skills to settle conflicts with words with both adults and friends. Camp Starfish truly brought out the best in Taesha. Thank you again for including Taesha in your program over the summer. She is eagerly looking forward to returning again! |
I just want to let you know Greg thought this was his best year yet. He is already talking about going back next year! I can't tell you what a different person he is each year when he comes home from camp. I also want you to know that I think you do an outstanding job staffing Camp Starfish. I work for a children's center that runs summer day programs for 300 children. Staffing is a nightmare! Yet, year after year, you have hired young people who truly understand these children and can communicate with their parents. No small task. Greg has learned so much from the counselors, and brings it home and really applies it to his life. All the counselors have treated him with such dignity and respect that I know he will in turn treat others the same way. Thank you so much for all you do. I tell everyone how wonderful Camp Starfish is! |

I just wanted to say thank you to you and the staff for making Rebecca's summer camp a wonderful time for her. She loves being there. We surprised her on visiting day with her new best friend, who just moved in on our street. Rebecca showed her every nook and cranny of the camp! Rebecca seems so much more grown up. My husband and I talked with some of the counselors on Sunday as we strolled around. They are very polite, made us feel very comfortable, are wonderful with the kids, so upbeat and very dedicated to their work and the children. It is nice to know my daughter is in such good hands. Thank you. |

"Adam became better at communicating his needs. Thank you!" |
"Damien is now able to verbally express his feelings instead of automatically lashing out." |
"Jared announces and removes himself from the family often to calm down and then returns to resolve conflict calmly." |
I would like to thank you for giving Jamie such a wonderful experience. She loved being at Camp Starfish. I think you are doing a wonderful service for children like Jamie. If it was not for Camp Starfish, she may not have ever experienced camp. She had a wonderful time, and had nothing but nice things to say. Jamie wants to go back next summer. |
Thank you so very much for taking the time in giving us your feedback along with your wonderful staff. [Sharon's Case Managers, Advocate, father] and I all feel you did a wonderful job in giving us your assessment as to Sharon's behavior at camp. I will keep you informed as to her progress and the outcome from her IEP meeting. We truly appreciate the time and effort you and your staff gave Sharon. We look forward to seeing you next year at camp. |

"Jana was smiling from ear to ear for days. I truly believe this was her best session out of the last 3 years and it did carry over to both home and school. So again, many thanks to everyone involved. You are all FANTASTIC!!" |

We just wanted to say thank you for taking such good care of Scott while he was there this past session. He had such a good time! He actually cried as we were leaving, saying, "It feels like I 'm losing one of my most precious possessions!" I have a feeling this will be a cherished memory for a long long time. Scott has such a hard time fitting in, making friends, being successful, that it was heart warming to see how well he bonded with the other kids and the counselors. He spoke very highly of everyone, and looks forward to seeing you all next year!!!! Thanks again. |
